ESRA Technical Committee on
Safety from Natural Hazards
The objective of this Technical Committee is to promote and facilitate both research and development and applications of risk informed methods
in the assessment of the safety, reliability, availaiblity and
maintainability of the different technical means of energy production
(nuclear, fossil, renewables) across their entire lifecycle as well as
of the distribution of the corresponding products, such as electricity
and heat.
Emphasis will be given to integrated decision making frameworks, i.e.
evaluations across different types of fuel (nuclear, gas, coal, oil,
solar, wind, hydrogen), different types of operating regimes, different
designs and/or across the entire lifecycle (fuel production, fuel
transportation, energy production, energy distribution, waste
management).
Trends in methodological developments as well as in risk-informed
regulation in different countries will be analysed, supported by
corresponding case studies in the different fields.
